1. Consistent Watering
Every time you post a changelog or devlog update, you "water" your seedling. Consistent, frequent updates heavily influence your ranking, showing the community that the project is alive and actively maintained.
2. Visual Proof
Including media assets, screenshots, or YouTube embeds in your updates significantly boosts your position. We value visual proof of build activity over walls of text.
3. Community Interactions
Projects that engage the community gather more momentum. Authentic comments, discussions, and reactions on your devlogs contribute to your ranking, proving that you're building something people care about.
4. Marketing Buzzwords Penalty
Marketing buzzwords (e.g. revolutionize, synergy, disrupt, next-gen, ai-powered, groundbreaking) incur a heavy penalty to your ranking. Authentic building, learning, and sharing is rewarded!
compostThe Compost Bin
Not all seedlings grow into massive trees, and that's okay! When you decide to stop working on a project, you can move it to the Compost Bin.
ruleCompost Rules
- Archived Status: Composted projects are moved off the main feed and are marked as archived.
- Post-Mortem Only: Once a project is composted, the only type of update you can post is a Post-Mortem. This is an opportunity to share what went wrong, what you learned, and how others can avoid similar mistakes.
- Recycling Knowledge: Your post-mortem provides immense value to the community. Projects that fail but leave behind a great post-mortem are highly respected!
