Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about planting, watering, and showcasing your project on saas.garden.

What is saas.garden?

saas.garden is an activity-driven SaaS directory and community for indie hackers and micro-SaaS builders. Unlike traditional directories that rank projects by social votes, we rank projects by developer activity (watering changelogs/devlogs).

How does the ranking algorithm work?

Our algorithm ranks your project purely based on development activity. Consistent updates, visual proofs (images/videos), and authentic language push your project higher, while using marketing buzzwords incurs penalties. We keep the exact score system hidden to prevent gaming the leaderboard. Read full details on our Algorithm page.

What is "The Compost"?

If a project has not been watered (no changelog or devlog posted) for more than 30 days, it automatically decays into the Compost heap. These serve as post-mortems or micro-acquisitions open for sale.

Do upvotes affect ranking?

No. Upvotes act as social proof and show community appreciation, but they do not impact the feed ranking. Only developer activity dictates project sorting.

How can I submit my project?

Simply go to the Add Project page. You can submit for a free manual review (takes up to 7 days) or fast-track your listing for $19 to go live instantly.
